The excavations that took place in modern times revealed slices of life of Ancient Rome \u2013 from ordinary residents to the local elite. Along with uncovering various artifacts, even some of the victims\u2019 corpses (in their ash-burnt condition), were also found by archaeologists. An amphitheater was also excavated (where gladiator matches were once held). Publicity over these excavations has since attracted tour groups to visit this site. Admission: \u20ac11 (good for the entire day). Hours: Daily 8:30 \u2013 7:30 pm (April \u2013 October), 8:30 am \u2013 5:00 pm (November \u2013 March).
